Returning to South America

The last time I was over there I spent 10 months in Latin America and came back with an inability to pronounce English words with a British accent. This time I'm going for a shorter period as a guide for World of BMW (sister company to GlobeBusters).

I'll be flying over, starting the journey in northern Chile in a town with the suitably dramatic name of Antofagasta. There'll be a group of 10 riders flying out to join me and we'll all be on BMWs - yep, folks, that's right, I'll be on a nice shiny new(ish) GS 1200cc bike again - for those not in the know, it is pretty big and has a great acceleration of 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds, comparable with a Lamborghini!

The route will take us across the Atacama Desert up into the Andes mountains, this was Thelma and I the last time I was in the Andes - different bike this time, but quite possibly still the same hairstyle

San Pedro de Atacama, Valle de la Luna, Lake Titicaca, the floating Reed Islands of the Uros people, Cusco (my home from home in S America) and of course Machu Picchu, followed by the Nasca Lines and the beautiful town of Arequipa, these are just some of the highlights we'll be enjoying on this journey. I'm looking forward to meeting my group who are once more of varying nationalities including British, Belgian, Romanian and Canadian.
